Those were the words that singer Steven Curtis Chapman spoke to his teenage son moments after a devastating event: while driving the family's SUV, the boy accidently struck and killed his little sister.
Some weeks back, I blogged about that tragedy.
Now, the Chapmans are coming forward to talk about it. I caught part of their interview with Larry King last night. They also appeared on Good Morning America. You can watch that report below.
It's an astonishing testimony, and a great tribute to their faith.

Faith working through love, always seeking hope... Thank you...
I won't be preaching this weekend -- we have a missionary speaking at all our masses -- but there are the seeds of a homily in this remarkable story.
Here is a stirring example of Christ reaching out to one family in the midst of a storm, grasping their hand and reassuring them: "It is I. Do not be afraid."

Thanks for the shout out! It really is an impressive story. God is present in this family in their suffering and I am grateful for their strength in sharing their story.
Thank you for posting this- I watched it while holding my 2-year-old daughter (who bears a slight resemblance to Maria) and I'm sure she was baffled as to why I had tears on my face!
There is much we can all learn from this family, I think.
